Existing Product Analysis

The Slimline Bag Drop millwork is a terminal designed for Delta Airlines to aid in their transition to an automated checkin process.

Our goals for this project were to include the necessary bio-metric components & to incorporate Deltas brand identity into the new system check in.

Passengers will be able to check in with facial recognition and weigh their luggage without needing to work with an attendant.

Early Concept Design

Concept development began with an extensive brainstorming process showing a wide variety of designs that fit Deltas brand identity. These concepts were reviewed by the client and selected based on their success.

Stage 2 Brainstorm

Refined Mill-work Concepts

This concept was selected for its use of light and transparent materials.

This concept was successful because of how well it fit into the existing Delta ecosystem.

Using Deltas logo in this way helped differentiate the Slimline from the other airline terminals within the airport.

This particular concept was chosen because of its simplicity. Although the other ideas were attractive, cost and ease of assembly were important to the client.

One final round of quick brainstorming insures that we’ve explored every avenue before moving forward with concept finalization. This brainstorm captured many of the elements deemed as successful by the client.
